Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced a few of the performers of whom will be making an appearance at their wedding.

The couple have selected a number of soloists, choral groups and musicians to perform at the service that will be taking place on the 19th May at St George's Chapel.

BBC Young Musician '16 and Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason are among them, as is Elin Manahan Thomas, the Welsh Soprano.

The chapel's director of music, James Vivian, will oversee the music.

In a series of tweets, Kensington Palace exposed that the couple had taken "a great deal of interest and care in choosing the music for their service", adding that the music that would be chosen would include a selection of well-known choral works and hymns.

In response to this, Mr Kanneh-Mason tweeted saying that he was "excited and honoured" to perform at the wedding. The cellist performed at a fundraising event last year for Prince Harry for the Antiguan charity, the Halo Foundation.

According to the 19-year-old, he was delighted to have received a phone call from Ms Markle herself, requesting if he could play during their ceremony.

He tweeted "I immediately said yes!!! What a privilege. I can't wait!"

Earlier this year, Kanneh-Mason also scored the biggest-selling British debut of the year with Inspiration, his classical album, and is scheduled to play at the BBC Proms this summer.

Led by Karen Gibson, The Kingdom Choir, is to be among the choral groups that will perform at the wedding service.

"It will be a moment that we will always treasure," she said. Gibson stated that the whole choir felt excited and honoured to have been selected.

On Monday, both Ms Markle and Prince Harry went to a Monday service to commemorate 25 years since Stephen had been murdered in a London attack that was racially motivated. The Christian gospel group have formerly performed Stephen Lawrence's memorial service.

Additionally, the Soprano, Elin Manahan Thoman, will also be performing with an orchestra that will be conducted by Christopher Warren-Green, formed from musicians from the Philharmonia, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the English Chamber Orchestra.

"I'm thrilled to have been asked to sing at such a momentous occasion. It's always an honour to be invited to be a part of a wedding, and getting to share in a couple's big day is very special.", Thomas said to BBC News.

"I know that the eyes of the world will be on Windsor on May 19th, and I wish everyone involved all the best in the upcoming preparations!"
